How can you work less and make more?

Before we answer that, let’s ask another question.

Question: How are you?
The typical answer: Busy!

Do you remember when the answer used to be ‘good’?

But, the mindset that prevails right now is that goals, outcomes, and growth are all achieved by working harder.

The cult of busy.
The 5 am club.
Hustle.

But growing your business by 20% by working 20% longer is not growth.
It's working 20% longer.
It's spending 20% less with your family.
It's sleeping 20% less.
It's 20% more burnout.

This isn’t fun, this isn’t effective, and this isn’t sustainable.

So how do we do less and achieve more?

We need to flip our thinking.

We don't need more time in the day.
We need to spend less time on what keeps us busy.

We need to spend_

_more time on what makes an impact.

_better time on what makes an impact.

Ok, but really, how?

Flip your time - what you do and what matters are not the same thing. Spend 80% of your time doing work that matters.

Stop multitasking - turn off your phone. Your distractions are killing your quality.

Eliminate the waste - pointless tasks aren’t even worth doing badly. Add a 'not-to-do' list to your planning.

Make space for deep work - control your environment, routine and calendar. If you don't have space to do your best work, you won't.

Say no - it’s ok to say no. No is a sign of focus. No allows you to do your best work.

Nothing here is groundbreaking.

Quality beats quantity.

Focus beats distraction.

It’s simple.

But it’s not easy.

(I forgot to turn my phone off while writing this, and I have just lost my train of thought as I got 12 WhatsApp messages. None of them were important.)
