A mini-manifesto.
1. A business.
- If you fix a problem in a unique way and other people want it and are willing to pay for it _ you have a business. If you don't, you don't.
2. Different = better than better.
- Find your difference and lean into it.
3. Be bad at something.
- In order to be good at something, you have to be willing to be bad at something. Find the trade.
4. Good enough to tell a friend.
- We don’t have marketing budgets, so we have to get people to tell people.
5. One thing.
- One thing at a time. One thing after another.
6. 80 from 20.
- 80% of your results come from 20% of your work. Find the 20% and spend more time on it.
7. Work on what matters.
- 80% of your time on the 20% that matters. 20% of your time on everything else.
8. The least important thing.
- Your company is trying to get you to work on the least important thing. Fight it.
9. The main thing.
- The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing.
10. What got you here.
- Will keep you here. Don’t stop doing what is working when it has worked.
11. Deep work.
- Shallow work is a waste of time. 90 mins _ one job_ phone off.

- A day of deep work is all your company needs. Don’t feel guilty when you are not at work; you earned it by doing the work.
